My mindful routine…

There’s nothing quite like a day off to reset, recharge, and realign with yourself. For me, mindfulness isn’t just about meditation; it’s about being fully present in each moment and making the most of my time to nourish my mind, body, and spirit. Here’s how I incorporate mindfulness into my routine on a day off.

Morning: Setting the Tone

I start my day slowly, I wake up around 6:30 am to 7 am and make my tea, early grey with honey and a splash of milk…I started adding a scoop of collagen in my tea, it was the best way for me to get my intake, and it’s tasteless. After a few deep breaths, I take a moment to sit in silence (with my book) soaking in the quiet energy of the morning. This peaceful start helps me set the tone of positive energy for the rest of the day.

Cleaning and Cleansing the Space

I write down everything I need to do chore-wise, doing laundry, cleaning the kitchen, etc. A clean and organized space reflects a clear and peaceful mind as the week goes on our space tends to become messy and I like to take a moment in the mid-morning to regroup. I spend some time tidying up my home, wiping down surfaces, and decluttering any spaces that feel chaotic. After the physical cleaning, I move on to spiritual cleansing. I light some incense and palo santo, setting an intention for the energy I want in my home. This ritual helps clear out stagnant energy and invites positivity and peace.

Cooking and Meal Prepping

Cooking is a form of meditation for me I have always loved stepping into the kitchen since I was a kid to stir up some new concoction. I take my time chopping vegetables, stirring sauces, and savoring the aromas filling my kitchen. Meal prepping not only keeps me on track for the week but also allows my boyfriend and I to be intentional about nourishing our bodies. We focus on whole, nourishing foods that bring us joy vitality, and a full tummy. (:

Reading and Reflecting

I love setting aside time in the morning or evening to read, whether it's a book on self-growth, a thriller, or a love story that inspires me. Reading allows me to escape, learn, and reflect on the different perspectives of others. I often journal afterward, jotting down thoughts, quotes, or ideas that resonate with me during my reading.

Doing Something Creative

Creativity is a huge part of my mindfulness practice. Whether it’s painting, sketching, taking my camera out to shoot or even trying a new medium, I let myself freely create without judgment. It’s a beautiful way to express emotions, unwind, and let inspiration flow. It is very much a trust in the process.

Engaging in Physical Movement

Movement is essential for both my physical and mental well-being. Whether it’s yoga, a nature walk, or an energizing workout, I dedicate time to reconnecting with my body. I focus on how it feels rather than how it looks, moving with intention and gratitude.

Ending the Day with Gratitude

As the evening winds down, I reflect on the day with gratitude. I might take a hot shower, listen to soothing music, or meditate for a few minutes. Before bed, I reflect on how my day went with my boyfriend and how grateful I am to have this life, reinforcing a positive and peaceful mindset.
